Does anybody remember having various pairs of Dr. Marten’s like I did in middle school (for those of you who grew up during the grungy 90’s)? I LOVED mine!
For the past year now, I have been looking for a lace-up, military-inspired combat boot. I wanted them to be tough, but wearable. Last Christmas I tried on the classic Dr. Marten black ankle boot, but I just felt like the clunky heel was too much for me and it gave me middle school deja-vu. But I still loved how masculine and punk they were compared to anything else I had seen.
One year later and after being inspired by Lisbeth Salander in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo movie, I finally gave into purchasing a new pair of Dr. Marten’s and I love them just as much as I did when I was in middle school. They are feminine with the ribbon laces and brown-pinkish color but still troublemakers at the end of the day.
